Aussie backs female brokers

Aussie Home Loans will take a leading role in developing the knowledge base of a female broker workforce.
Yesterday the brokerage became the principal sponsor for the Women in Mortgage Business Network.
"The Women in Mmortgage Business Network provides significant opportunities for professional development," Aussie executive director James Symond said.
"Aussie is proud to be associated with this important initiative as we believe women are a powerful and successful force within the mortgage broking industry.”
WIMBN holds social and educational seminars across five cities each quarter. Topics range from marketing workshops for business owners, to panels featuring inspiring women.
MFAA Chief Executive, Phil Naylor said the Women in Mortgage Network (WIMBN) is an initiative which aims to provide women in the mortgage broking and financial services industry opportunities to grow their business and expand their networks.
“Our network encourages a down to earth approach while still promoting an environment of learning and aspiration,” Mr Naylor said.
“While we do have successful and professional high profile women as members, our approach is to foster a friendly group of like-minded women who want to grow their businesses and network with industry peers.”
Mr Symond said Aussie was keen to take a leading role in developing the knowledge base of the female broker workforce.
“In an industry largely dominated by men, Mr Symond said it was vital for women brokers to be able to enhance their skill set, be mentored and mentor others, while sharing ideas in a fun environment,” he said.
“It’s no secret women deliver high quality customer service and Aussie would love to have an even stronger presence of women in our network. We believe initiatives such as this make the industry more attractive to women.”
