Aussie Broker Shortlisted for Prestigious MFAA Award

Out of thousands of entries, Aussie's Mike Buchecker has been named as one of three finalists in the individual category of Mortgage Broker of the Year in the coveted Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) annual Excellence Awards.

Mr Buchecker, a Brisbane-based broker who has been with Aussie for more than a decade, has overcome a number of health issues including losing much of his sight for a period of time and a broken leg, to continually perform at the highest level in his profession.

"In 2001, when I completed my training with Aussie Home Loans and began my career, I didn't know if I would be a good broker or not," he said.

"But I was motivated and realised it was a role that would return rewards only if I put the effort in. I decided my business would be underpinned by superior customer service and communication. These are still my priorities today."

Aussie CEO Mr Stephen Porges said Aussie was full of outstanding brokers, but Mike's achievement was a testament to his skills, dedication and commitment to his customers and Aussie.

Mr Porges said: "For four months Mike's colleagues drove him to appointments as his eye problems meant he was unable to drive. This speaks volumes of the type of person Mike is, and of the respect he garners from his fellow brokers."
