Aussie Kicks Goals after Wizard Acquisition

Aussie Home Loans, Australia's leading mortgage broker, is posting record lending levels following the recent acquisition of Wizard Home Loans from GE Money.

The mortgage broker has doubled its monthly lending volumes to more than $2 billion following the addition of Wizard franchisees to Aussie’s distribution network, which now covers over 140 outlets in city and regional areas.

All of the 111 Wizard outlets are being transformed to the Aussie brand and they are now part of an organisation which is bucking the gloom of the recession with an aggressive expansion strategy.

Aussie now has more than 800 mortgage brokers nationally - making it the largest retail non-bank financial services group in Australia – and is keen to recruit more franchisees and brokers to continue its expansion.

Executive Chairman of Aussie, Mr John Symond, said “The acquisition of Wizard, as well as strong first home owner demand, have significantly accelerated Aussie’s lending volumes to record levels and we are actively seeking opportunities to expand further.

“Our customers are now recognising the fact that we now are providing heightened service levels and a greater range of financial products, including home loans, credit card, insurance, car and personal loans”, he added.

More than 80 per cent of the Wizard franchisees who now signed up to Aussie before the April 29, 2009, deadline have recognised that Aussie now provides them with a more competitive product range, greater security and support.

Mr Symond said, “We are now in a stronger position to take the fight up to our bank competitors, by providing consumers with a greater range of cost competitive products and increasing advertising spend.

“We are delighted to be in a position to bolster the non-bank industry through acquisitions and further recruitment of specialist mortgage brokers, with our loan book worth more than $30 billion”, he concluded.
