Other things you should know about credit card payments

  • If you have balances on your account earning different interest amounts, then the balance earning the lowest interest will be paid off first by any payments made. So if you are on a promotional rate of 5.99% p.a. for example, but you’ve also bought things on our standard low rate of 11.49%, the promotional amount will be paid off first.
  • If you are late with a monthly payment then you will be charged a fee of $35.
  • If you spend more than your credit limit you’ll be charged $35. You’ll only be charged this fee once per month regardless of how many times you go over your limit.
  • Your up-to-55 day interest free period is based on your statement and payment cycles. Basically, you get a statement every 30 days and have 25 days to pay that statement. If you paid your previous statement balance in full by the due date and you make a purchase on the first day of the next cycle, you have 55 interest-free days on that purchase.
