Rent Default and Legal Expenses Cover
Being a landlord can be pretty stressful at times! To help you stress less, Aussie Insurance offer an optional cover for Rent Default and Legal Expenses.
What’s covered?
With Aussie’s optional cover for Rent Default and Legal Expenses, you will be covered if:
- Your tenant leaves the building before the end of the rental period stated in the agreement and does not give you or your agent notice
- Your tenant does not pay rent owing under the agreement and leaves your building
- Your tenant does not pay rent and is legally evicted from your building
- Your tenant is denied legal access to your building by a Local, State or Commonwealth Authority

Landlords motor burnout cover
When you take out Landlords building or contents insurance with Aussie Insurance you can add on motor burnout cover for even greater protection. With motor burnout cover, you are covered for the fusion or burning out of the actual wiring of a domestic motor by an electrical current. Examples include:
- Motors forming part of your Landlords building, like a motorized garage door opener
- Or motors forming part of your Landlords contents, like a washing machine.
