Aussie Capalaba bought some Christmas cheer to Birkdale South State School’s Carols concert last Friday night by raising $985.
Despite the rain, the mortgage brokers and staff from the local Aussie store hosted the sausage sizzle, providing the food and raising much needed funds for the school’s Parents and Children’s Association.
Head cook for the event was Aussie Capalaba’s Franchise Principal, Andrew Ward, who manned the BBQ throughout the night.
Andrew says “We didn’t let the rain dampen out spirits, and we managed to raise a great amount to put towards the school. The Redlands has been very good to us over the last 12 years, so supporting Birkdale South was a great way for us to give something back to the community at the grassroots level.”
Cathy Bidois, President of Birkdale South’s Parents and Children’s Association, says the school is thrilled with the additional funding and thankful for the support from Aussie Capalaba.
“Support from local businesses, such as from Andrew and his team, is really valuable in helping us improve the school and its facilities. We’ve already allocated how we’ll spend the much needed money, with half going to the playground fund and the other half to general up keep of the school.”
