Aussie Home Loans saw record levels of female brokers recruited into its thriving retail channel during the 2015 financial year.

Nationally, 38 per cent of new Aussie loan writers and franchisees recruited in FY15 were women. New South Wales and Queensland led the surge, with women making up 44 per cent and 45 per cent of new retail recruits respectively.

The mortgage broker also saw an increase in new female mobile brokers joining its ranks, with the total percentage of new female mobile brokers up from 27 per cent in FY14 to 29 per cent in FY15.

Chief Executive of Aussie, Mr James Symond, said “Mortgage broking is a really flexible and rewarding business opportunity because it allows people to own and build a business while still managing the other requirements in their lives.

“When I speak to our brokers about what they love most about their business, our female brokers are far more likely to talk about making a difference in people’s lives, and making dreams come true; looking after their customers with an emotional connection,” Mr Symond explained.

Catherine Dodd (pictured), Co-Franchisee of Aussie Neutral Bay and a member of Aussie’s exclusive Chairman’s Club which recognises the top five per cent of Aussie’s mortgage brokers, agrees.

“Broking is a fantastic career path that offers diversity, flexibility and the opportunity to earn a great income. I love the challenge of running my own business and building on my results each year – every day is different and there is so much more to being a broker than just fronting up and quoting the lowest interest rate.

“Our clients are trusting us to help them with the biggest purchase that they will make in a lifetime, so you need to be adaptable, love dealing with people and have the passion to give clients a better experience than they could have ever imagined so that they can’t help but recommended you,” Ms Dodd said.

“Recruiting more women into the Aussie team is a trend we’re determined to continue, and I strongly encourage any women looking for a financially and emotionally rewarding business opportunity to give us a call,” Mr Symond added.
