Despite recording declines in home value growth and property sales, Canberra had more properties selling above the advertised price than many other capital cities.
Last financial year was a tough time for the Canberra property market. Average property price growth was just 1.9%, which with inflation sitting at 3% actually represents a value fall in real terms.
The year-on-year change in sales also saw a decline of -5.9%, second only to Perth which recorded a -10.7% reduction in sales.
Properties are also selling much faster than before, with the average time on market down from 59 days to 46 days.
