We are constantly bombarded by advertising images – from our computers, televisions, magazines and billboards as we go about our daily lives. But how about using your body, your car or your house to make money from displaying company advertisements?
There are a number of companies which offer those services, including www.signrider.com.au which offers drivers around $40 per week for having their vehicles plastered with banner advertising.
Over in the US, marketing firm Brainiacs From Mars, are saying homeowner’s mortgages each month in return for letting the company paint their houses in bright colours with the firm’s logo.
The company says it will paint the entire outside of the house, minus the roof, windows and any awnings, and only applies to people who own their homes and the house must stay painted for at least a month, but the offer could last for up to a year. If the agreement is cancelled, the company paints the house back to its original colours.
David Le from Brainiacs From Mars told news.com.au the company has received several applications from Australia.
“We’d love to make it out there but don’t have a time projection yet,” Mr Le said.
Also from the US, marketing company www.leaseyourbody.com offers up to $5000 for wearing an advertiser’s brand tattoo on your forehead – either permanently or in the form of a fake tattoo.
Would you surrender your body, car or house as a billboard? If so, how much money would you want for it?
