FERRIES on strike, broken down trains with no air-conditioning and being stuck next to someone with body odour (BO) on a long bus ride are just some of the joys of commuting to work.
Aussie has asked its fans how long they travel to the place of work, and the results were interesting with the majority living a short commute.
Almost 30 per cent of respondents said they travelled between 0 and 15 minutes to get to work, while a further 15 per cent took between 16 and 30 minutes.
The next largest group (27 per cent) said it took them between 31 and 45 minutes to travel to their place of employment.
“That really depends on what Sydney traffic is up to that particular day,” one respondent said.” On a good day, it might take me around 40 minutes door to door. There are nightmare days when I’m stuck in the bus for over an hour.”
Another 11 per cent said it took them just under an hour, while a further 9 per cent said it took them between 60 and 90 minutes in their one-way commute.
Spare a thought for the six per cent of respondents who spend more than 1-1/2 hours travelling to work.
If you conservatively said it took them 2 hours each way, everyday – that’s 10 hours per week or 520 hours per year. That’s more than 21-1/2 days of commuting.
We hope they’ve got great jobs!
