Aussie Insurance aims to make the claims process for your home and contents as simple as possible, with no forms to fill in, ever.

If an event occurs where you need to make a claim, follow this simple checklist:

  1. Do what you can to prevent any further loss, damage, cost or liability
  2. Tell the police immediately if the claim involves theft, attempted theft, malicious acts, civil unrest or impact by a vehicle and get an event number
  3. Call Aussie Insurance on 1300 244 266.

Proof of ownership

When you make a claim under your home and contents insurance for loss or damage to an item, Aussie Insurance will require proof that you owned the item and of its value, otherwise your claim may not be paid. How to make a claim

Here at Aussie, we understand that being in a car accident or needing to make a claim on your Motor Vehicle Insurance can be stressful at times. Aussie Insurance aims to make motor vehicle insurance claims as easy as possible. There are no forms to fill out and everything can be done over the phone on Aussie Insurance's 24/7 emergency claims line 1300 244 266.

If an event occurs where you may need to make a claim, follow this simple checklist:

  1. Secure your car and do what you can to prevent any further loss or damage to your vehicle, including towing it to the nearest place of safety
  2. Report the loss or incident to the police when this is required by law or your policy
  3. Gather as much detail from the other party as possible
  4. Have your licence details readily available
  5. Call Aussie Insurance's claims team on 1300 244 266

In the event of a Motor Vehicle Insurance claim, you may nominate your own repairer or Aussie Insurance will arrange for repairs to be carried out by a qualified repairer. If your nominated repairer’s quote is either not competitive, or Aussie Insurance does not believe that your nominated repairer can satisfactorily repair your car, Aussie Insurance reserves the right to arrange for repairs to be carried out by another qualified repairer.

How to make a claim

If you need to make a claim, we have specially trained claims staff who will be pleased to answer any questions and assist you with the completion of any necessary paperwork associated with your claim Either you or someone close to you can simply call us on 1300 244 266. We will then advise what to do next. Our claims requirements will vary depending on the type of, and reason for, the claim you are making. Our claims requirements may include, but are not limited to (as applicable):

  • Completed claim forms, and
  • Certified copy of the death certificate, and
  • Confirmation of loan drawdown date, and
  • Proof of diagnosis of condition for which the claim is being made, including copies of investigations performed by a specialist (eg clinical, histological and radiological evidence), and
  • Probate or Letters of Administration.

Claims should be notified promptly to avoid delays in processing the claim.

How to make a claim

If you or your nominated beneficiary (or, in the absence of a beneficiary, your legal personal representative on your death) want to make a claim, call 1300 244 266 as soon as possible after the event giving rise to the claim. You will then be sent a Claims Booklet.

  1. Complete the Claims Booklet.
  2. Obtain:
    (a) A certified copy of evidence of death (in relation to a death claim) or the evidence of the occurrence of another insured
    (b) A certified copy of evidence of the insured's age
    (c) A certified copy of proof of your identity and your relationship to the insured (in relation to a death claim)
    (d) The original Policy Schedule. If the Policy Schedule has been misplaced, please complete a Statutory Declaration.
  3. If you would like the benefit amount paid directly into a bank account, complete a Direct Credit Authority.
  4. Send the above documents as soon as possible to:
